Moving Web Site to Cheapland

Posted by -{ T h e # 1 }- at 04 February 2010 (20:54) 0 Comments

Christmas is over! And so is most people's wallets (mine), which is partly why I'm typing this post. In the coming days I will be moving this website to another web host account I own. This is to ease the cost and get everything to one place.

So expect some hiccups here and there until I get everything right.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - 2010

Posted by -{ T h e # 1 }- at 24 December 2009 (23:18) 2 Comments NEW

This year is coming to its end now. It has been a very quick year, and a lot has happened in our lives - but like most of you have noticed there hasn't been much change in this website or in the Battlefield gaming community. It is inevitable to say that the game is steadily - but slowly - decreasing in active users. Though, that doesn't stop us from playing a game once in a while, and I must say it's still really fun to play.

We will see how long this website will be able to stay up - it always surprises me when you guys keep coming back to this practically dead website and making it stay alive! Thank you.

Now let's look forward and see what this new year can bring us!

ESS team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

P.S. Got anything nice in Christmas? Please share!

Traptown War on Sunday

Posted by Zoolander at 02 December 2009 (20:58) 0 Comments

[VS] will be hosting the Traptown map on Sunday 6th December for anyone wanting to drop in and play.

It should be up most of the day but if people can aim for 12noon CST, 6pm GMT, 7pm Europe then you'll hopefully have someone else to play with.

The installer has been updated to work on 64bit versions of Windows and a mistake in the manual install instructions of the readme corrected.

A Ventrilo Voice Server will also be setup at for anyone wanting to jump in.

Traptown Released

Traptown is a totally new level for the Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons Demo, creating a medium sized town in a very small game space with multiple routes through the level and strategic ambush points.

It works in Conquest, CTF and TDM modes, with CTF being the primary mode that it was designed for.  It encourages more team play and makes players have to be always be pushing forward towards the enemy base rather than camping in one area.

I've tried to put in as many small details and objects as possible to make the place feel more real.  The Axis grenade has been changed to a smoke grenade.

It also includes an easy to use installer made by manticore from
